Aromatic Scent: Both sweet and herbaceous. Carries some subtle notes similar in character to Rose.
Practical Uses: Use a few drops, diluted in water, in an oil burner to help relieve PMS and menopause symptoms, anxiety and tension, and to help center and calm the mind. Geranium rose is said to be excellent for the skin, and can be blended into lotions and creams to aid in the relief of eczema, cellulite, shingles, bruises, and other similar conditions. It helps balance oil production in the skin. Its centering, balancing properties also make it excellent blended in a massage oil. Geranium rose is known for enhancing hair care products; add a couple of drops to an unscented shampoo or conditioner for a lovely scent and shiny, healthy hair.
Description: A perennial shrub often used as a hedge and grows up to about 1 meter high. With pointed leaves, serrated at the edges, it bears a variety of brightly colored flowers. The leaves and stalks are used for extraction and the oil is obtain through steam distillation.
